Local volunteers will have the opportunity to gain new skills this May at the City of Bayswater’s range of National Volunteer Week training and information programs.

Open to anyone who volunteers their time to any sporting club, community group or organisation in the City, all sessions are free to attend.

City of Bayswater Mayor Dan Bull said volunteers are the lifeblood of the Bayswater community, giving up their time to support others.

“Volunteering not only provides vital services to the community but creates opportunities for individuals to connect with each other. The establishment of strong social networks reduces social isolation and makes our community a better place to live.

“The impact of the work volunteers do can’t be underestimated, often   changing the lives of the people around them.

“The City of Bayswater values its volunteers and is keen to acknowledge the contribution they make to our community.

Volunteers can sign up for any or all of the following programs via the City of Bayswater Facebook page:

Mindset booster – Monday 20 May from 2pm – 3pm

Keeping sane – Wednesday 22 May from 5.30pm – 7.30pm
