Young people at the forefront during Youth Week

I'm constantly impressed with the energy and passion displayed by young people in the City of Bayswater. The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is a shining example of young people making a positive contribution in our local community.

To build on this, we're kicking off WA Youth Week by asking young Bayswater residents what's important to them. The City is keen to hear about challenges faced by people aged 12 to 25, and how we can make Bayswater a more youth-friendly place to live. I encourage you to have your say in the City's youth opportunities survey at engage.bayswater.wa.gov.au before the end of the month.

We've also got some fantastic activities on offer during Youth Week.  You can improve your kitchen know-how at a free teen cooking class at Bayswater Library on Thursday 18 April, or create your own artwork with popular artist Samantha Hughes at Morley Library on 17 April. Both workshops are suitable for ages 12 and 18. See the What's On calendar on the City's website for more details.

If you're a young person keen to represent your community, why not join the Bayswater YAC? Email yac@bayswater.wa.gov.au to let us know you're interested.
