There are four lively town centres in the City of Bayswater—Morley, Maylands, Bayswater and Noranda—each with its own unique character and mix of businesses and services. Our town centres are more than just shops, they are at the very heart of community life.
Since adopting a place management approach, we've seen events, streetscape improvements, public art, cultural activities and greening projects thrive. Many of these initiatives owe their success to community groups, businesses and volunteers who are committed to working alongside Council to improve their local area.
We are keen to help more locally-led projects get off the ground. The City's Major Town Centre Event Grant is now open for groups to apply for their share of $50k in funding to run their own large-scale event. Last year, the City supported Our vibrant town centresthe popular Baysie Arts and Street Fest and Progress Street Party.
