Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Coronavirus (COVID-19) update
Mar 22 2020

“The City is working hard to do what it can to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

“Given the rapidly changing situation, City staff are assessing all new information on a daily basis.

“As of 5pm today we will be closing the remaining pools at the Bayswater Waves.

“In light of the new social distancing measures announced by the Prime Minister, the Hon Scott Morrison on Friday, and his earlier ban on non-essential indoor gatherings of more than 100 people, we feel the risk to the community and our staff is just too high.

“The safety of the community and our staff is our top priority.

“This week the City closed the hydrotherapy area, including the pool, spa, sauna and steam room, and the toddler pool. Wave sessions, the waterslide and other water play were also cancelled.

“All Learn to Swim classes were suspended earlier in the week. All direct debit payments were paused.

“The City suspended all membership fees due to the limited services it was providing.

“We will continue to monitor the situation with the best interests of our community and staff in mind."
