The City has completed work on a new temporary public car park in the Bayswater town centre, making it easier for visitors to access local shops and businesses during METRONET’S construction of the new Bayswater Train Station.

Located at 2 Hamilton Street, in close proximity to local businesses, the carpark offers visitors two hours of free parking, with 24 hour access to 23 car bays, one ACROD bay and four motorcycle bays.

The City and the State Government worked collaboratively on the project in support of local businesses impacted by the road closure on Whatley Crescent, as a result of construction works on the new Bayswater Station.

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) funded the development of the carpark and associated works. After extensive stakeholder engagement, the City designed and built the carpark, which opened to the public in late October. The City will manage and maintain the carpark and lease the land for a minimum of three years.

The City worked with the Bayswater Traders Association and Local MP Lisa Baker on the carpark development.
