The City of Bayswater has scored an impressive 90% customer satisfaction rating for its statutory planning service in a recent survey.

The strong result can be attributed to the City’s fast-tracking statutory planning system and dedicated staff.

The City implemented the fast-tracking system back in 2013 to simplify and streamline the assessment and determination of small-scale residential development applications.

The City’s fast-track statutory planning system is available for most residential development applications, ranging from patios, carports and outbuildings to retaining walls.

Under the system, applications that meet the criteria are assessed and issued within a two-week timeframe.

As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, the City has employed an independent researcher to review all applications submitted during the previous 12 months and randomly select 31 to interview about their experience.

The feedback the City has received to-date has been overwhelmingly positive with customers citing the quick turnaround time and direct access to officers as reasons why.  

Since commencing the survey in 2019, we’ve seen a year-on-year increase in customer satisfaction scores, which highlights our commitment to serving our community better.

The City is proud to meet the needs of our residents, and the wider development industry, by making it as easy as possible for projects to get off the ground quickly.
