Help mark NAIDOC Week with a range of free activities in the City from Sunday 2 to Sunday 9 July.

City to celebrate NAIDOC WEEK 2023
Jun 09 2023

Residents are invited to deepen their understanding and appreciation of First Nations culture and history by participating in NAIDOC Week celebrations around the City.

In 2023, NAIDOC Week will be celebrated from Sunday 2 July to Sunday 9 July with a range of free events on offer.

NAIDOC Week presents an opportunity to hear Noongar Elders and leaders share their culture.

Three of the City’s winter community planting days will acknowledge NAIDOC Week including a yarning with Dr Noel Nannup, a Baigup Wetlands bushwalk, and a smoking ceremony.

With further all-ages activities at the City’s libraries, there is something for everyone.

The City’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan October 2021 – October 2023 highlights its commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful community, where histories, cultures and achievements of First Nations people are celebrated. The City is proud to celebrate NAIDOC Week as part of this commitment.
