City celebrates summer with festival of free community events
The City’s Summer Festival Series is packed with free community events from December 2023 to May 2024.
Community members can enjoy long summer days and warm nights in the City of Bayswater with a series of free events for all ages, including beloved Christmas celebrations, community markets and cultural performances.
Taking place from December 2023 to May 2024, the City’s Summer Festival Series of events brings together families, friends and neighbours at iconic City locations, including Riverside Gardens and Bert Wright Park.
Key events in the Summer Festival Series include the City’s Carols by Candlelight concert on Saturday 16 December, and Community Barbecue Breakfast and Citizenship Celebration in January.
The City of Bayswater Community Concert in February will showcase a unique blend of jazz, hip-hop and First Nations entertainment.
In March, the City will celebrate International Women’s Day with a program of special events, and community members can explore the international flavours of Morley with the City’s two-week-long Feed Me Morley food festival.
Also included in the calendar of events is a number of exciting community-led events supported by the City through its Community Events Grant. Locals can enjoy popular Christmas and Easter Twilight Markets in Bayswater, explore weekly foods trucks in Noranda, browse vintage markets for sustainable buys in Morley and enjoy celebrations of Middle Eastern and Vietnamese culture in Maylands.
