The City of Bayswater is offering grant funding to help support local businesses and community-led initiatives as part of its Placemaking Grants program.

Grants of up to $3,000 are available for eligible projects that help improve business shopfronts or enhance the City’s town centres.

Business owners are encouraged to submit improvement projects that attract customers into their shops and encourage visitors to linger longer.

Projects may include creating an inviting shopfront entrance or enticing window display, updating old signage, adding colour with public artwork or building custom alfresco furniture.

Community groups or individuals can also submit their innovative ideas for projects that will enhance the City’s town centres in Maylands, Morley, Bayswater or Noranda, to the City for funding consideration. Projects may include a community event, arts initiative, street furniture and greening projects.

Successful applicants are required to contribute half of the project cost.

The City is committed to helping grow the local economy through supporting small businesses and creating prosperous town centres.

Applications close Friday 24 November 2023.
