City secures carpark to support local businesses
The City has purchased a Bayswater site to secure its use as a carpark for visitors.
In a bid to support local businesses, the City has purchased a site opposite the newly constructed Bayswater Train Station to secure its use as a carpark for visitors to the town centre.
Located at 2 Hamilton Street, the site has been used as a temporary carpark since 2021. It was designed and constructed by the City and funded by the State Government in an effort to support businesses impacted by the construction of the Bayswater Train Station.
Council approved the purchase of the site following a decision by the owners to sell.
As construction works continue on the northern side of the Bayswater Train Station, the City will continue to support existing businesses.
The purchase of 2 Hamilton Street will ensure visitors continue to easily access the nearby shops, bars and restaurants located on Whatley Crescent and King William Street.
With the recent opening of the newly constructed Bayswater Train Station and new businesses set to open within the town centre, it’s a really exciting time for Bayswater.
