Community members are invited to celebrate International Women’s Day by attending a range of free and inclusive events across the City from 6 to 14 March.

Celebrations include a preloved fashion show and clothing sale, coding workshops for girls, an evening yoga class and workshops designed to help small business owners boost their success and help busy women manage the juggling act.

At the heart of the program is Women’s Impact, an inspiring afternoon featuring a captivating presentation from international human rights lawyer Rabia Siddique. Taking place at the City’s Civic Centre from 2 to 4pm on Thursday 7 March, event attendees will also hear from Carol Innes, co-director of Aboriginal-led collective Danjoo Koorliny, and have the opportunity to connect with local community groups and organisations.

Mayor Filomena Piffaretti said she was proud to present to the community a program of events celebrating International Women’s Day.

“Our International Women’s Day celebrations cover a wide range of topics, from sustainable fashion and health and wellbeing, to technology and business,” she said.

“Whatever your interests or background, there’s something for everyone.

“The whole community is invited to attend these special events. It’s always great to see everyone come along and take part."
