The City of Bayswater will celebrate its diversity with a series of LGBTQIA+ community events as it takes part in Pride WA's annual PrideFEST celebrations for a third year.
From 5 to 25 November, the City will join with local businesses and organisations for a range of fun and free events promoting diversity and inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people in the community.
The 2023 theme of PrideFEST is Brave: Be Brave, Be Strong, Be You.
The City’s Morley Library will host young adult author Meg Caddy for a talk and morning tea, while the City’s Youth Advisory Council will put on a free quiz night for those aged 12 to 25 years at The RISE.
City staff will attend Maylands Street Festival and Pride Fair Day, gathering community feedback for a new LGBTQIA+ community mural planned for Maylands. Drop by the City's stall to meet and have a chat with some of the City's Youth Advisory Council members and Inclusion and Diversity Advisory Committee members.
In 2023, the City is partnering with Playgroups with Pride, GRAI - Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Rights in Ageing Inc, Morley Noranda Recreation Club, Gay Dads WA and Derby West for other local PrideFEST events.
PrideFEST provides an opportunity to highlight our differences and celebrate what makes us unique.
The City of Bayswater is proud of its wonderfully diverse community and supporting Pride WA highlights the City’s commitment to being inclusive.
